Physical Intervention

This programme covers skills to avoid assault and disengage from a risk situation, plus skills to hold and escort an individual. It covers positive communication and conflict management skills and trains operatives whose role carries a significant risk of assault how to manage encounters by careful assessment of the situation and good interpersonal skills.

The programme provides knowledge, skills and behaviours to help them operate legally, safely and ethically in situations where such physical interventions may have to be used.
